16a Biennale Internazionale di Architettura

16a Biennale Internazionale di Architettura

The project proposed for the 16th International Architecture Exhibition entitled "Urban Colours" is focused on the relationship between architecture and urban environments, with particular attention to colour, often absent or arbitrarily used in modern architecture. Therefore the general concept of the exhibition, which awaits the transformation of urban areas through the relationship between color and art and thanks to a careful management of architectural forms, can contribute to improve the quality of the life. During the show, 3 projects will be presented with models, videos, photographs and artworks by architects and designers. The projects: "Il mio ambiente nell'ambiente" project by the architects M. Maresi, G.Ridolfi and D.Galassi. The concept developed by architects starts from the idea that today, public spaces and especially squares have lost their aggregation function, becoming only places. On the other hand, a well positioned light creates immediately an atmosphere in an environment and a customized coloured light allows you to adapt this environment to your moods. The "Lampada ballerina" has been designed to create diffused and coloured glow according to the rotation that is given. The "Panca dispettosa" comes from the idea of making people interact through the simple act of sitting down. "Architettura Arte e Colore per dare nuova vita alle città", project by S. Benvenuti and C. Guiducci; represents the relationship between the worlds of architecture and art, passing through the colour, that makes life more pleasant and liveable. Intervention with large sculptures, as well as the use of decorative elements and temporary artworks from the world of art, could be interesting in a context of urban renewal and urban reconstruction. "Mà & Bà", metallic chairs designed by Pierpaolo Iannone are characterized by an immediate reference to the famous icons men and women. An amazing pop design with bright colour shapes. "Chinese contemporary art, Pop Art and Italian design" project by the architect Carcerano and Chinese artists Xu De Qi and Zhang Hong Mei. What happens if we combine italian taste and design, the provocation of "pop art" and the artistic research of two of the most interesting chinese artists on the contemporary scene? Single pieces of furniture are born: coloured, pop, sometimes "courageous", but always strongly anchored in different traditions. It is not just about customizing pieces of furniture, something already featured many times, but creating an interaction between artists with different culture and origins united by a same artistic tension and creative passion. "The Fun factory", project of the Shanghai studio LIN Architecture, presents a courageous and innovative project, about the construction of prisons, for minors and young people, compatible with the issue of reintegration of these young people to civil society, otherwise sentenced, not only to expiate their crimes, but to live with a future irreversibly compromised. The prisons, designed by the young chinese studio, gave surprising results in the pilot projects, with a reintegration of more than 70% of the young people involved into civil life. "Urban colours" is therefore an artistic and cultural exchange plan, yet experimented with the Friendship Project created for the two previous editions of the International Art Exhibition. The project is curated by Vincenzo Sanfo and coordinated by Diffusione Italia International Group, under the supervision of the National Commissioner of the Republic of San Marino, Marco Renzi and the Secretary of State for Education and Culture Marco Podeschi.
