Frida Kahlo
The revolutionary

Frida Kahlo<br>The revolutionary

The exhibition "Frida Kahlo La Rivoluzionaria" is inaugurated on July 2, 2018 in Noto, at the Convitto delle Arti - Noto Museum, which contains about 80 photographs of the great Mexican artist. The set of these photographs, highlight some moments of his existence, suspended between events that have influenced not only his painting, but also his way of conceiving life. Among torments and passions that have now gone beyond the history of art, to enter the myth. Frida Kahlo, like Marilyn Monroe, is a character that does not leave indifferent and that is self-replicated through the collective imagination that finds, in its artistic events, but even more in its human affairs, an existential force that overcomes all difficulties and does not surrenders to the facts, even tragic life. Love, pain, politics, creativity and the search for a personal inner serenity bring out the personality of an artist, but even more than a woman who has become the symbol of the strength and independence of all women. In these images that capture Frida Kahlo in her private and public moments, we find the whole human story and the passion of an undisputed protagonist of the twentieth century just passed. An exhibition, this by Noto, that will not fail to excite visitors and that will reveal the aspects of an exciting and unique event. On show, over 80 images of some of the great protagonists of world photography, friends and life partners of Frida Kahlo, from Gisele Freund to Leo Matiz, Edward Weston, Lola and Manuel Alvarez Bravo, Imoghen Cunningham, Nicolas Muray and many others. Curated by Vincenzo Sanfo in collaboration with Fenice Company Ideas srl
